"You've been through a very hard time and why do you continue to be a comedian?" Tetsuro Degawa was asked.
The TV show host, Takashi Yoshida (Black Mayonnaise) says "I don't want to do any kinds of life threatening comedy no matter what."
Early this year, Degawa has challenged sky diving from 10,000 meters high. It was so hight that an air mask was critical.
"Aren't you scared or do you get used to it eventually?" asked Yoshida. Degawa responded "I even don't like roller coasters". Once he is scheduled with any kinds of dangerous works, he gets extremely anxious. However, he earns no respect for his life risking works. When he was younger, local gangs used to knock on his door at 2 a.m. every night and shouted "Degawa, let's hang out with us!". They even stabbed the door scope with an awl.
"It was the hardest time of my life", says Degawa.
Degawa continues, "But once I hear the laughter of the audiences, I could overcome my harsh experiences." When he was still infamous, he was on a roller coaster, and his reaction got caught people's eyes, and gradually his work load has increased. All he wants is to make people laugh. "When I am stinkin' old, I still want to be laughed at for jumping into a boiling bath."
This is, indeed, Degawa's dream.
