The Reason Why Hiroyuki Nagato Announced His Wife's Dementia To The Public

It is widely known that Hiroyuki Nagato, who passed away on May 21, had been taking care of his late wife, Yoko Minamida, for over 4 years. It has been seen on TV and moved many people. On the other hand, some did think it was inappropriate to show his demented wife, who was also an actress, on TV. Why did Nagato made her sickness open to public?

"My cheating brother passed away", Masahiko Tsugawa,Nagato's brother, sent the message to Tetsuko Kuroyanagi.
She was close their late aunt, Sadako Sawamura, hence she knew the brothers well. Kuroyanagi says Nagato had a big talent as an actor, and it was one of his charms that he exaggerate stories to entertain others.

Kuroyanagi introduced one of their episodes; while Nagato and Minamida were sleeping, there was an earthquake. Minamida woke him up and said, "There is an earthquake!", Ngato replied, "Yes, yes, I am going home now... really...". It looked like he thought he was sleeping in his mistress's house. Minamida
sighed and said, "He just loves women so much...". Minamida devoted all her cleaning up Nagato's debts, solving work prblems, however, she could not handle his issues with women.

On May 23, Kuroyanagi spoke on TV; "Many of you thought it was too much to show Minamida who suffered from dementia on TV." However, there was a reason for that. Nagato wanted to take her outside of the house as much as he could, butif he hid her sickness, people would keep asking him what was wrong with her and he had to tell them about her sicknesseach time. He thought if he announced it to the public, people would understand it and watch them over.

Kuroyanagi continued, "Minamida is probably saying to Nagato that he came to to her too soon. I think she wanted him toact longer." Nagato has left this world to see Minamida again. It is definitely where where he can rest in peace.
