Akira Shimizu wrote that him and other big singers have visited Iwanuma, Miyagi on May 16.
According to Shimizu, six singers gathered together to visit the earthquake affected city, including Shimizu himself, Yukio Hashi, Linda Yamamoto, Judy Ongg, Akiko Kanazawa, and John Ken Nuzzo. They took Shinkansen and bus to visit Iwanuma, and as they entered the city, there was a total silence in the bus.
When they arrived at an evacuation center, Judy sang "Miserarete", Linda sang "Donimo-tomaranai" and many others. The earthquake victims sang along with them and it stroke Shimizu's heart.
Akiko Kanazawa chose to bring unisex T-shirts for the earthquake victims. Right after their visit, many of the earthquake victims visited her blog and thanked her saying "It was incredible that so many of you came to visit", or "Thank you so much for your songs, it gave us courage".
They continued on their trip to Minami-Sanrikucho on May 19.
