Arisaka Mika, a singer familiar with jazz, gospel and so on, reported on her blog that she had joined in a support song for Japan’s reconstruction realized by the leader of the jazz and funk group in UK “Incognito” and others.
Japanese and foreign splendid musicians gathered for this charity song “Love Will Find A Way”; exactly it can be called a miraculous collaboration.
After the earthquake on March 11, “Incognito” carried out six lives in Japan without cancellation or postponement. The leader of this group “Bluey” (Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick) appealed foreign artists to realize the charity song for supporting reconstruction after the Tohoku Region off Pacific Earthquake.
The singer Arisaka Mika who respects Bluey joined too, responding to his appeal; she reported on the situation on her blog.
Bluey came to Japan for tour and saw the conditions after the earthquake. He deeply grieved as if it were his own affair and asked himself what he can do; then he wrote a song while he was in Japan and quickly arranged to make recordings.
At that time he called Arisaka Mika, akko from My Little Lover, Tsuruno Takeshi, bird, Marlene, Sakai Yu, SATOMi for joining in a recording in Japan. In addition, there were Eric Miyashiro for trumpet, Onuma Yosuke and Konda Kiyoto for guiters and surprisingly, Larry Carlton who was visiting in Japan joined, too.
The recording was made not only in Japan but also in UK; splendid members such as Corinne Drewery (Swing Out Sister), Omar Leee John (Imagination), Mark Reilly (Matt Bianco), Natalie Williams, Mark King (Level 42), PDG, Joao Caetano, Ana Costa Baptista (Per) joined in.
Bluey especially admired the vocal of bird. Also, Eric Miyasiro’s trumpet and duet of Larry Carlton’s and Onuma Yosuke’s guitars impressed other members. You can listen to the male vocals by Sakai Yu, Omar and Tsuruno Takeshi only in this track.
Arisaka Mika told that in this recording she could have valuable experience of thinking about harmony and melody line with Bluey who was “idol in her youth” and that all of the musicians who joined ought to have been impressed by Bluey’s feelings.
Even though such a lot of musician joined in, “Love Will Find A Way” is never too elaborate track. Arisaka Mika said “this is very nice track anyone can sing at ease,” hoping many people listen to this song.
The charity song for supporting reconstruction after the Tohoku Region off Pacific Earthquake “Love Will Find A Way” is planned to be released to whole of the world in iTune Music Store on May 31. All of the takings will be donated through Japan Red Cross.
