Super musical “Saint Seiya” release press conference was held on May 30, in which the leading actor Kamakari Kenta and other actors told their emotions or enthusiasm for the musical.

Saint Seiya is comics by Kurumada Masami which had been on Weekly SHONEN JUMP since 1986. It was made into animation and popular in foreign countries. In 1991, it was also adapted to a musical; SMAP participated and it became the talk.

This time, the animation movie “Saint Seiya: Jashin Erisu (Evil Goddess Eris)” released in 1987 is made into a musical. Kamakari Kenta acts Pegasus Seiya; he acted the musical “Tennis-no Ojisama (Prince of Tennis)” and “Air Gear”, and also he has just finished “Tumbling vol.2” in May. Athena is acted by Tomita Maho, who is now acting on stages and as a voice actress in the musical “Annie”, “Les Miserables” and so on. Evil Goddess Eris was acted by the actor Yuzawa Koichiro, who acts a woman for the first time. Ellie, Eris before transform, is acted by Yoshida Hitomi.

On that day, the director Kayano Isamu and the actors appeared and commented in musical release press conference at Nico Nico main office (Harajuku).

“In order not to disappoint everyone, I’ll love and understand Seiya more than any others to act him,” Kamakari Kenta told, who had watched the animation of Saint Seiya when he was a kindergarten pupil. Tomita Maho acting Athena/Kido Saori told that many of her friends are “Saint Seiya fan” and she had been said she isn’t fit for Saori. “I’m happy I was chosen for Saori. I’ll do my best to fit for the character,” she told pleasantly.

And then, Yuzawa Koichiro trying to act a woman revealed that in the explanation about his role, he had been told that he’ll act a role which is to hold Ms. Yoshida and grope her breast. He showed he is ready and said “I’m a professional; I’ll act properly ‘cause it’s my work.” Yoshida Hitomi acting Ellie was surprised to hear this. “I feel it an honor to act Ellie,” she expressed her pleasure but she didn’t hide her surprise: “I’ve heard I’ll be held by Mr. Yuzawa (Evil Goddess Eris), though I didn’t know I’m to be groped my breast.” However, she also showed her readiness with her smile and said “I’ll do, because it’s my work.”

Their individual, interesting comments were impressive. Such characters will cause good effect on the stage. The director Kayano Isamu enthusiastically said: “I’m burning! I want to make an exciting and beautiful work like a rock-opera, rather than a musical.” “The costumes shouldn’t be cosplay just imitating the looks, but look cool when actually actors wear them.” How will be the “Saint Seiya”? Expectations are rising.
