Shiseido is presenting its original radio contents and charity funds to Community FM and temporary disaster FM stations as its one of supporting activities for Eastern Japan Earthquake victims.
Shiseido has sent supporting funds and cosmetic items for the affected cities of the earthquake. Those cities are short in money and staff, hence this support announced by Shiseido on May 19 was a timely offer. Currently, the community FM and temporary disaster FM stations are run by staff and volunteers to provide useful information for the local residents.
Shiseido has sent supporting funds to the FM stations in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima, and provides original contents with songs and messages by enka singers that are popular in Tohoku. Each singer has a five minute slot with their song and message. The participating singers are the followings; Yukio Hashi (Yakusoku), Masao Sen (Kitaguni no Haru), Kenji Niinuma (Omoide Misaki), Aki Yashiro (Funa Uta), and Sachiko Kobayashi (Omoide Sake).
Another content that is a story book reading called "Mimi Wo Sumashitene ('Listen To This')" which small children and nursing mothers may appreciate. An actress, Kie Nakai reads the story and Mariko Hamada and Tone play the music. There are five stories "Chorus, Tegami, Mugibue, Biwa, Kamakiri" from a story book 'Ohanashi Pocchiri' (Miyako Moriyama, Kazuhiko Toyota, Komine shoten).
Shiseido also published a column on beauty titled "Care for Skin and Hair in the Affected Areas" on May 15 for their local newspapers, providing beauty information in where is short in daily cosmetic materials. This column also can be read in ther website.

It is a great idea that big enterprises like Shiseido send their own unique supports and funds to those areas in need.
